Morgan Edwards is the founder and owner of LUMENAV, a production consulting and audiovisual integration firm built on the belief that great production is not just about equipment—it’s about people, process, and purpose. With over fifteen years of experience across theatre, concert touring, live events, corporate production, and AV installation, Morgan has developed a reputation for delivering productions that are visually compelling, technically sound, and operationally efficient.

Morgan’s career is rooted in theatre, where he learned early that every light, every cue, and every technical decision must serve the story. That foundation shaped his creative philosophy and earned him three North Carolina Theatre Capital Awards for Outstanding Lighting Design during his formative years. He later formalized his technical expertise with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, paired with an outside concentration in Technical Theatre—an uncommon combination that allows him to approach production with both artistic sensitivity and engineering-level precision.

As a lighting designer and production professional, Morgan has worked on national touring productions for major artists including Bow Wow, B2K, New Edition, Omarion, Ashanti, Mario, Soulja Boy, Pretty Ricky, Bobby V, and Lloyd. His work on the Millennium Tour earned him a Billboard Music Award in 2021 for Best Rap Tour, along with a Billboard Music Award nomination in 2019 for Best R&B Tour. On tour, Morgan is known for designing systems that strike a careful balance between impact and practicality—prioritizing safe rigging, fast load-ins and load-outs, and workflows that respect both crew and schedule.

Through LUMENAV, Morgan brings that same level of thoughtfulness to venue-based production and AV integration. The company specializes in designing and installing intuitive, high-performance audio, lighting, and video systems—particularly for venues and houses of worship where reliability, clarity, and ease of use are critical. Rather than overselling unnecessary complexity, Morgan focuses on building systems that meet clients where they are, while remaining scalable for future growth. His installations are designed to be operated confidently by both seasoned professionals and rotating teams, including volunteers.

Morgan also continues to work as an independent lighting designer and production lead for special events and live recordings. A recent highlight includes serving as lighting designer for Jonathan McReynolds’ live recording in Chicago, where he transformed a church into an awards-show–level production under an extreme same-day load-in timeline. By leveraging pre-visualization and disciplined planning, Morgan delivered a polished, timecoded show that exceeded expectations for the artist, label, and production team—demonstrating his ability to thrive under pressure without sacrificing quality or safety.

Technically, Morgan’s expertise spans lighting design and programming, front-of-house and monitor audio mixing, media servers, projection, LED video walls, and IT networking. He has hands-on experience with modern lighting consoles, digital audio platforms, media servers, projection systems, LED processors, and fiber-based networks. His computer science background allows him to quickly diagnose system issues, design stable infrastructures, and communicate effectively across departments, vendors, and production teams.

What truly sets Morgan apart, however, is his approach to people and leadership. Clients and collaborators consistently describe him as calm under pressure, adaptable, and easy to work with. Whether stepping into an unfamiliar venue, supporting a touring artist, or leading a local production team, Morgan takes the time to understand the environment, respect existing workflows, and elevate the operation without unnecessary disruption. He believes the best productions come from well-supported teams working within systems designed to help them succeed.

Outside of his professional work, Morgan has a deep interest in history, architecture, and old-world cartography—fields that reflect his broader fascination with how space, structure, and human experience intersect. He enjoys traveling, snowboarding, spending time outdoors, and continuing to learn, all of which inform his creative perspective. At his core, Morgan is driven by a genuine love for live production and a commitment to doing the work the right way.
