New Zion Church in Charlotte, NC, brought in Lumenav through a trusted collaboration with James Bennett to guide a full-scale audiovisual refit of their sanctuary. As part of a complete renovation—including flooring, walls, seating, and AV infrastructure—our role was to build a clean, modern system that was powerful, flexible, and user-friendly for a small volunteer-based team. With full trust from the client and excellent communication with James, we were able to manage shifting timelines, adapt to evolving needs, and deliver a high-performing result that blended seamlessly into the refreshed worship space.
We began with a room-aware sound design, centered around JBL SRX835P full-range speakers and SRX818SP subwoofers, strategically overpowered to deliver full fidelity without ever sounding harsh. Control was anchored by a Midas M32 Live digital console with a DL32 stage box and a Behringer P16 personal monitor system, giving musicians easy iPad-level control while maintaining clarity across the stage. Later, when the church requested a LED video wall, we seamlessly integrated it without obstructing the baptistry, enhancing their media presence while preserving their space and aesthetic. This was paired with Chauvet COLORband lighting bars, fresnel lighting, and tasteful architectural uplights for a clean, elegant stage look.
On the video side, we installed a complete broadcast package, including four 30x PTZ cameras, a Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K switcher, and a Smart Videohub router for full signal routing. Content and control ran through a Mac Mini M1 system powered by LiveStream Studio and DeckLink SDI capture cards, designed for two-person operation and optimized with broadcast-ready SDI cabling throughout the space. Display support included two 85" Samsung QLED TVs and distribution to overflow rooms and office spaces.
The result is a flexible, modern, and easy-to-use AV system that empowers a small team to produce polished worship experiences and live broadcasts without stress. Lumenav delivered a clean, well-managed install that elevated the entire atmosphere—visually and sonically.
